Abstract
This case study offers the opportunity for students to analyze Infosys'' and large Indian IT players'' different entry modes into Germany, which the authors'' propose to be one of the last untapped IT frontiers for the Indian IT players. Over the last decade, the large Indian IT shops have slowly expanded their footprint into Western Europe, excluding the UK. In spite of numerous remarks at press conferences considering entry into the German market, visible commitment to the region has been minimal. The case suggests that a maturing of the Indian IT industry coupled with limited regional expansion options for the WITH Players has created pressure on the firms to achieve future sustainable development. Hence the authors argue that in order to sustain double digit growth, the German market is a geography which can no longer be ignored. While the case is based on Infosys, it is one that is applicable for the remaining Indian IT players in general.
