Abstract
Holly Safford sighed as she sat back in the chair in her office. She poured herself a glass of wine, and gazed out her office window on the fleet of refrigerated trucks being loaded up on the loading dock. She reflected on how far she had come since catering her first event for an insurance company nearly 30 years ago. She never imagined that this little business started with two of her friends would turn into the multi-million dollar business it was today. Holly looked at some of the pictures on the walls, recording some of her favorite events, people she had worked with, and venues she had catered. With the downturn of the economy in 2008 she was relieved to know that her business had made it through a rough time, and she believed that things were turning around. Holly smiled as she thought ''Didn''t I tell myself five years ago I''d be retired by now?'' But, ironically, it seemed that the company needed her more than ever now. What would happen to the company five years or ten years from now? Could her sons, Alex and Andrew, manage the business without her? How would they take the company to the next level? Holly sighed again and glanced back to her desk and the stack of files. She had a busy, but typical weekend ahead of her. With nine events scheduled for Saturday, Holly grabbed her favorite pen and opened up the file at the top of the stack.
