Abstract

This supporting video is to accompany the case. This case explores challenges that many young, inexperienced entrepreneurs face: raising capital; interacting with an older, a more experienced CEO; enlisting the aid of outside technical experts; optimally applying their talents while recognizing their own limitations; and gaining customer awareness of their company and its product. A primary theme is entrepreneurs' challenge in keeping pace with the management and leadership needs of a fast growing company. As Zeo grew, it required more specialized skills and business experience than the founders initially brought to the venture - in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, e-Commerce, and so forth. How could the three young founders continue to be relevant and contributing leaders, given the company's changing needs.
