Program on Negotiation, Harvard Law School

The Program on Negotiation (PON) is a consortium program of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tufts University and serves as an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to developing the theory and practice of negotiation and dispute resolution in a range of public and private settings. PON’s mission includes nurturing the next generation of negotiation teachers and scholars, helping students become more effective negotiators, and providing a forum for the discussion of ideas.

Teaching materials and publications

A range of materials, including role-play simulations, videos, books, periodicals and case studies, is available. The case studies are available from The Case Centre. Most of the materials in the Teaching Negotiation Resource Center are designed for educational purposes, whether in college classroom settings or in corporate training settings, by mediators and facilitators introducing their clients to a process or issue, or by individuals looking to enhance their skills and knowledge independently. The cases address both the theory and practice of negotiation and conflict management. Materials cover negotiation-related issues in a wide range of areas, from climate change to ethics.
