About WHU's case collection

WHU's case collection currently contains about 85 field-based cases on companies with operations in Germany. This can mean headquarters of German companies, foreign affiliates of German companies abroad or affiliates of companies with headquarters outside of Germany.

Most cases cover topics from international strategy and operations, namely purchasing and supply chain management. Companies come from various industries with a focus on industrial goods typical for the German economy. Special attention is given to the development of useful teaching material. All our cases are accompanied by teaching notes helping instructors to effectively teach the case.

Another feature is that we try to stimulate vigorous class discussion through the design of the cases. Students should be able to argue for different avenues the decision makers should pursue based on the case story.

The number of case studies in the WHU collection grows rapidly and will continue to do so as German speaking Europe is to cases what China is to production plants. Further, we are specifically focusing on cases for executive education as the demand for cases for this audience is clearly on the rise.
