Abstract

The rise of incubator programs has been a feature of the recent surge in tech entrepreneurship. These programs are designed to help early-stage startups be more successful and grow, but how they do that varies wildly. This note looks at the history of the industry, how they impact their entrepreneurial ecosystem, key incubator players in different sectors, and where the industry may be headed. Students will gain insight into why this industry emerged and how to evaluate options if they are choosing among incubators.
