What is a Blue Ocean Strategy Hackathon?
Creating a new market becomes ever more critical as companies face a heightened degree of competition and depressed demand. Employees are asked to be creative and innovative, and entrepreneurs with burning ideas aspire to create a viable and sustainable business. Can we teach them the insights, analytical tools and processes to formulate a creative and innovative strategy, not through the ex-post case discussions but by letting them face a real business challenge?
Blue Ocean Hackathon is a highly intensive and engaging 1-2 day course to learn the market creation methodology and process, based on the international multi-million sellers Blue Ocean Strategy and Blue Ocean Shift. It challenges students as well as executives in the red ocean industries with a real-life task to create an innovative blue ocean opportunity. Participants apply the tools and framework of blue ocean theory step-by-step using printable worksheets. Finally, they are introduced to one of the possible answers in a form of a video case study, so that they can reflect upon their exercise with what happened in the real case.

What makes it difficult for businesses to apply theory into practice? How can we create a more immersive learning experience for students to retain knowledge longer and transfer it into action? We have excitingly designed a unique pedagogy for teachers to bring dynamism, excitement, and experiential learning into the classroom by combining the case method with a hackathon. This format includes real-life case exercises, worksheet templates, and firsthand video interviews with the company that created a blue ocean.
If you are teaching blue ocean strategy, innovation, or entrepreneurship in your curriculum, this webinar offers you an opportunity to learn about a highly engaging strategy formulation course that enables your students to break away from competition and create a new market space.
