The Case Centre Connect Issue 46, June 2020
padding

Dear colleague

Welcome to the June issue of Connect!

As the Coronavirus pandemic continues, so does the demand for case teaching online. In this issue of Connect we’re pleased to offer you yet more tips and resources to support you with the adjustment.

Our first feature provides excellent insight from Martin Kupp and Urs Mueller's ‘Moving your case teaching online’ webinar that we ran in April. In the second article we hear from top business schools about the challenges and opportunities of moving case teaching online during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Bill Schiano, a strong advocate of teaching online, is the latest case method expert to take the ‘5 minutes with…’ hot seat, discussing how tech can improve the case teaching and learning experience, and how he’d be a film producer in another life.

You can also read about our four featured cases, which focus on Amazon Marketplace, Barbie, Monte-Carlo and PMI’s vision of a smoke-free future.

Stay safe and healthy!

Watch back our webinars, held in March and April 2020 with workshop tutors Angela Lee, Martin Kupp and Urs Mueller, looking at moving case teaching online quickly. Watch here.

“We should not focus on doing it (online case teaching) 'right' but instead on doing it 'well enough' that we can get through this experience. When the storm is passed, we need to revisit it to see what we can continue to do and what we need to do better.” – Tawnya Means, Chair of AACSB’s Online Learning Affinity Group. See more.

“Be mindful of how many tools you expect your students to learn; having access to multiple resources is great but it’s important to simplify the students’ transition and learning. Choosing relevant resources is always better than choosing more resources.” – Ivey Publishing. Read more.
