Vicky Lester appointed CEO of The Case Centre
The Case Centre’s Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Vicky Lester as Chief Executive Officer. Vicky will assume the position on 1 July 2022 and succeeds Richard McCracken who is retiring from The Case Centre.
The Board conducted a rigorous selection process from an international field of highly qualified, diverse and exceptional candidates. This has resulted in the selection of an internal candidate with a detailed understanding of The Case Centre, the case method and the business education sector, who will be able to provide continuity of purpose, and strong leadership as The Case Centre evolves to support business schools in their future challenges.
Vicky Lester joined The Case Centre on 1 July 1991 as Office Junior. Over the last 31 years she has continued her professional development and education, and her career has progressed through the organisation. She became Operations and Systems Director in 2004 and was appointed Deputy Director when Richard McCracken joined the organisation in 2008. Since then, she has worked alongside Richard on planning and implementing the organisation’s business strategy.
Professor Ruth Bender, Chair of the Board, said:
“Vicky’s commitment to the company, together with her industry experience, leadership skills and strategic vision, makes her the strongest candidate to lead The Case Centre in the next stages of its development. We look forward to working with Vicky to ensure that the case method and The Case Centre continue to thrive.
“We owe Richard an enormous debt of gratitude for leading The Case Centre through a period of significant change and many challenges. As a result of his leadership Vicky inherits an organisation in excellent shape. As he moves towards his retirement, we extend our very best wishes to Richard, as well as grateful thanks for all that he has done.”
Commenting on her appointment, Vicky said:
“I am passionate about The Case Centre – its people and its purpose – and it is an honour to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer.
“In the future, I believe that the case method will be more valuable than ever to a wider audience and can play a key role in the challenges that business schools and higher education face. I am excited to work with The Case Centre’s fantastic team and external partners to further our mission of advancing the case method worldwide.”
