Abstract
This video is to accompany the case series. Crompton Greaves is an Indian company that has never made an acquisition. In the accompanying (A) case it is proposing to buy Pauwels, a Belgian company with plants in five countries, that is on the verge of bankruptcy. It looks extremely risky. Should they go ahead? If so, how should they handle the integration of the two companies? The video provides the perspectives of the key players in making the decision on the opportunities and issues they deliberated - Crompton Greaves did acquire Pauwels. As a complement to the subsequent (B) case, the video then highlights some of the key challenges of the integration - and how these were successfully managed.
