Abstract
National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) is the first indigenous bank in the Gulf Region at that time. NBK still is the number one bank in Kuwait and a leading financial institution in the Middle East according to many reports. The ERP system SHOROUQ has been outsourced and cost more than 2 million KD. The system merged all managerial levels as well as cross-functional areas of the bank into one integrated environment. The new system was a success where the decisions are facilitated and top management grasped a clearer picture of the market that reflected into successful strategic decisions.
