Abstract

This is the third of a three-case series (IMD-6-0205 to IMD-6-0207). The policy developed in case (B) is applied case (C). It was found that policy could not be applied as easily as the company expected. Some adjustments were necessary - depending upon the items purchased, the existing relationships with the suppliers, and the availability of alternate suppliers. A video is available to accompany the case series (IMD-6-0205-V). **1999 EFMD European Case Writing Competition Category Winner**.
