Abstract

Aditya Bagri (Aditya), the son of Shyam Bagri, the Founder of Bagrrys India (Bagrry’s), was in charge of launching his own distinct QSRs (quick service restaurants) segment under the Bagrry’s portfolio in the Indian metros. Bagrry’s which was the country’s oldest breakfast cereal maker had plans to enter the food retailing sector, through the concept of QSRs offering healthier alternatives in competition to the fast foods available at chains such as KFC and McDonald’s. The QSR which was to be named 'Baggry’s On the Go' had a portfolio which would serve food and beverages such as 'oats-based sandwiches, burgers and bagels, muesli and wheat bran-based desserts and multigrain meals for lunch and dinner'. Experts felt that the health food niche identified by Aditya 'could be instrumental in turning around investments in quick time'. Would Bagrry’s on the Go change the consumer behavior of Indians and establish the presence of Bagrry’s in the QSR segment as well?
