Zynga is a renowned American social game developing behemoth company. Its games are not only popular across the USA, but Europe and Asia as well. It made huge revenues and profits utilizing Facebook as a platform and had over 265 million monthly active users, far ahead from its competitors. But this feat didn’t last for long. The humongous userbase of FarmVille, once a very popular game, started plummeting every quarter within a year of its launch. This steep decline pointed towards an inherent problem within the organization. This case study presents facts concerning this downfall and eventually discusses the organization’s tyrannical corporate strategies and the tactics employed by the management at the time of crisis.
