Abstract

As COVID cases dropped and lockdown lifted, many corporates planned to get their employees back to their workplaces. Several organisations drafted measures to ensure the safety and wellness of their employees while also monitoring the readiness of the organisation to welcome their employees back. Besides, employees were also keen on transitioning from virtual or remote working and resuming usual office life, which included attending meetings, brainstorming with colleagues and teams in order to enhance productivity. However, returning to workplace involved a few risks. Offices had to ensure adherence to COVID protocols among employees, along with fulfilling their organisational requirements. Similarly, employees could be required to make changes in their mindset after having adjusted to working from home. In addition, while organisations could be required to be empathetic towards employees, the employees could be required to adapt to the new ways of working post pandemic. Would employers be able to create a smooth transition for employees to return to their workplace post the COVID-19 pandemic?
