Abstract
The case is about Abir's task to analyse the performance of Ultratech cement as his firm wants to diversify its existing portfolio of automobile and technology sector by inclusion of infrastructure (specifically cement companies). Abir was aware of the growth of the infrastructure sector and its impact on Ultratech's future projects with huge CapEx investments. But, before making any decision of diversifying the existing portfolio he wanted to gauge Ultratech's operational, financial and market performance by applying Financial Analysis tools like Ratios, Common Size Statements and Cash flow Analysis. He also wanted to do a peer comparison with Shree Cement (its closest competitor) to have a comprehensive view of the sector. He started working on each of these parameters by collecting the financial data of Utratech and Shree Cement.
