Abstract
When a company meets or beats stock analysts expectations for 43 continuous quarters, it is no surprise that its CEO and the strategists turn a blind eye not only to their weakness but also to the writing on the wall - recession. History is witness to such companies in many sectors, which defied the normal bell shaped growth curve and suddenly hit a roadblock. It is at such times that a company needs a visionary and missionary leader who can once again breathe life into the organisation. Cisco was one such company and there is hardly any parallel to its spectacular comeback story. The industry recognised that this was possible due to Chamber''s visionary leadership. This case is intended to drive home the point that ''nothing is certain in business'' and also that it requires an effort of three gorges magnitude to save oneself from 100 years flood (sudden and steep recession). This case focuses on Chamber''s turnaround strategy and leadership as well.
