In recent years China has become the largest market for mobile handsets that attracted major players. In spite of being an early entrant, Motorola was not able to maintain its lead in the market. Competitors, especially the local players, were giving a tough time to the company. The case discusses the importance of China as a market for Motorola and what Motorola is doing to counter the competition and retain its leadership position in the market.
