In 1993 Kone Corporation was Finland''s 11th largest company with sales of FIM 11 billion. The company employed 21,000 people all over the world. Kone was engaged in several businesses ranging from elevators to wood handling equipment. According to the management, the company''s business was in ''vertical transportation''.
