Abstract
The price war, launched by a reduction of 15p in the price of The Times in September 1993, provides an opportunity to consider some of the factors that might motivate such behaviour by oligopolists. This case study has been prepared purely to encourage classroom discussion, it is not exhaustive nor does it seek to pass judgement.
