HEC Paris was founded in 1881 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, making it one of the oldest European business schools. And today, it’s one of the world's best business schools - a leader in research and education in management sciences. HEC Paris offer a unique portfolio of programmes designed for a carefully selected student body. Its vision is to impact business society through research, education, and action, to contribute to a more inclusive, prosperous and sustainable world. HEC Paris’ use of the case method dates back as early as 1921 when it broke with strict French tradition and adopted the case-based method associated with Harvard Business School. As for its production of cases in the present day, HEC Paris’ case study collection addresses general management challenges. Their cases place a special focus on finances, leadership and strategy, technology-based industry, and social responsibility/ethics. Of particular interest within the collection are cases and video material from geopolitics, and law from a business perspective. HEC Paris cases have regularly been used to teach Executive Education, MBAs, Masters and Undergraduates. In total the HEC Paris collection available through The Case Centre numbers 106 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. Nine of those are prize-winning cases. |
