Asia is a region of dramatic contrasts, blending eastern tradition with rapid westernisation. Competing ideologies exist amidst new synergies. In this region of great wealth and dire poverty, the Asian Institute of Management’s role is to empower entrepreneurs, business, and development leaders to initiate sustainable social, political, technological, and economic development. To achieve this, the Institute is categorically Asian, with a strong concentration on Southeast Asia and the ASEAN economic community. The Institute’s programmes are designed for practical application in the real world. To advance this objective, they use the case method as a primary mode of teaching and learning. Under this method, which was adapted from Harvard Business School’s own system, students analyse actual business scenarios to hone their analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. Since 2023, The Case Centre received 13 new cases for distribution from Asian Institute of Management authors. In total the collection available through The Case Centre numbers 134 cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. |
